On the sacred full moon of Baisakh, Buddhists around the world observe Buddha Purnima, also known as Buddha Jayanti—the thrice-blessed day that marks the birth, enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana of Gautama Buddha.

For us in Nepal, this day carries even deeper meaning. The Buddha was born in Lumbini, making this a moment of national pride and spiritual gratitude. Buddha Purnima reminds us that the path to peace, wisdom, and compassion is always available through sincere practice, prayer, and chanting.

On May 1, HBS Nepal warmly invites you to join our Buddha Jayanti observances at:

2. Shanti Dharma Stupa

Event Schedule

8:00 AM — Buddha Jayanti Ceremony at Kathmandu Center

11:00 AM — Chant Walk from Gurje Bhanjyang Police Station to Shanti Dharma Stupa

3:00 PM — Buddha Jayanti Ceremony & Lamp Offering at Shanti Dharma Stupa

Let us gather with sincere hearts in prayer, chanting, and gratitude.

By offering light to the Buddha, we illuminate our own lives and the world around us.

आरिगातो गोजाइमास

बैशाख महिनाको पवित्र पूर्णिमाका दिन विश्वभरका बौद्ध धर्मावलम्बीहरूले बुद्ध पूर्णिमा, जसलाई बुद्ध जयन्ती पनि भनिन्छ, श्रद्धापूर्वक मनाउँछन्—यो त्रिगुण पावन दिन हो जसले गौतम बुद्धको जन्म, बोधि प्राप्ति र महापरिनिर्वाणलाई स्मरण गराउँछ।

हामी नेपालीहरूका लागि यो दिन अझ गहिरो अर्थ बोकेको छ। भगवान बुद्धको जन्म लुम्बिनीमा भएको हुनाले यो दिन राष्ट्रिय गर्व र आध्यात्मिक कृतज्ञताको क्षण हो। बुद्ध पूर्णिमाले हामीलाई सम्झाउँछ कि शान्ति, प्रज्ञा र करुणाको मार्ग सधैं निष्कपट साधना, प्रार्थना र जपमार्फत उपलब्ध छ।

३:०० दिउँसो — शान्ति धर्म स्तूपमा बुद्ध जयन्ती पूजा तथा दीप प्रज्वलन

आउनुहोस्, हामी सबै निष्कपट हृदयले प्रार्थना, जप र कृतज्ञतासहित एकत्रित होऔँ।

बुद्धलाई प्रकाश अर्पण गर्दा हामी आफ्नै जीवन र वरिपरिको संसारलाई पनि उज्यालो बनाउँछौं।
